In the third month after the sons of Israel had gone out of the land of Egypt, on that very day they came into the wilderness of Sinai. When they set out from Rephidim, they came to the wilderness of Sinai and camped in the wilderness; and there Israel camped in front of the mountain.(Exodus 19:1-2)

We have now entered the third month of the Biblical calendar during the year Ayin Dalet. The month of Sivan is the month of alignment, the month of giving and receiving and the time that enabling power for completion is available to us. This month is very key every year because it is the month when Pentecost, the feast of Harvest, is celebrated. We are in such an amazing time in history as God is restoring His glory in the earth.

The month of Sivan is the third month of the spring season, which is comprised of the three months of Nissan, Iyar and Sivan. The three tribes corresponding to the months of spring are Judah, Issachar and Zebulun; who in the desert encampment around the tabernacle were situated to the East. Their joint camp was known as the camp of Judah, whose name means “praise”. Every year during the spring season we have an opportunity to spring forth into a new cycle of blessing and watch as God shows Himself strong by delivering us from the hands of our enemies. This season begins with Passover, the Feast of Unleavened Bread, which celebrates the Lamb of God who took away the sins of the world. We also finish Counting the Omer (counting our blessings) this month which leads us into the Feast of Pentecost, where we receive fresh provision and power as Holy Spirit activates His fruits within us. During this time we celebrate the physical provision God releases to us, the provision of His Word and the provision of His Spirit.

Sivan is also linked with the Tribe of Zebulun, who was Jacob’s sixth son born to Leah. When Zebulun was born Leah said, “God hath endued me with a good dowry; now will my husband dwell with me, because I have born him six sons”, as such his name means “exalted”. The root word for his name, zabal, means to inhabit or to dwell with. When Jacob blessed Zebulun he said, “Zebulun shall dwell at the haven of the sea; and he shall be for an haven of ships; and his border shall be unto Zidon”. When Moses blessed Zebulun he said, “Rejoice, Zebulun, in your going out, and Issachar, in your tents. They shall call peoples to their mountain; there they offer right sacrifices; for they draw from the abundance of the seas and the hidden treasures of the sand”. This is the only time we see Moses release a blessing that links two tribes. This reveals to us the importance of alignment evident this month.

As I have mentioned multiple times over the last couple of months I believe we are in a historic shift that is initiating the greatest revival and reformation the world has ever seen. That is a pretty bold statement when we look at how the early church turned the world upside down as they moved in great signs, wonders and miracles preaching the Gospel of the Kingdom. Get ready to turn the world upside down as He realigns you in a new way!

The Month of Alignment

And of Zebulun he said, Rejoice, Zebulun, in thy going out; and, Issachar, in thy tents. They shall call the people unto the mountain; there they shall offer sacrifices of righteousness: for they shall suck of the abundance of the seas, and of treasures hid in the sand.(Deuteronomy 33:18-19)

During this time we have the opportunity for new alignments or to be realigned with those we are advancing with us in a new way. These alignments give us the ability to prosper in a new way. In the thirty third chapter of the book of Deuteronomy we read the blessing that Moses released over the tribes of Issachar and Zebulun which says,“And of Zebulun he said, Rejoice, Zebulun, in thy going out; and, Issachar, in thy tents. They shall call the people unto the mountain; there they shall offer sacrifices of righteousness: for they shall suck of the abundance of the seas, and of treasures hid in the sand”(Deuteronomy 33:18-19). What makes this significant is that their blessing, which involved unlocking the wealth of the sand and the sea, was released as they aligned.

The relationship that Zebulun had with Issachar is very unique. Zebulun’s ability to generate wealth as successful merchants empowered Issachar to spend hours studying God’s word. Because of this, Issachar was able to gain revelation that empowered Israel to know what to do. Zebulun’s business savvy and Issachar’s wealth of wisdom and understanding of God’s word allowed all Israel to be called to higher place. This gives us a picture of how kingdom alignments empower us to gain wealth and wisdom to advance.

The market place plays a very important role in Kingdom advancement. Those who control the market place are the gate keepers of cities. If the local church does not build a bridge into the market place it will not be effective in bringing social transformation, which is the end result of the great commission. We need more than money and influence to advance the Kingdom but without these in place our effectiveness is limited. Wisdom found in God’s word coupled with dynamis(power) enable us to bring the transforming power of the Gospel of the Kingdom into our communities in a way that is enduring.

During this time we should take inventory of our relationships and ask the Lord to keep us moving with those He has appointed. It also a time to evaluate our business affairs and ensure everything is in order. We can expect God to release to us the anointing and wisdom we need to prosper financially. He can release to us the Spirit of Wisdom that will empower us to create wealth. There is also mercy available to us this month that allows us to close the books on the last season and prosper in new ways as we align with Him.

The Month of Giving and Receiving

And the LORD said unto Moses, Come up to me into the mount, and be there: and I will give thee tables of stone, and a teaching, and commandments which I have written; that thou mayest teach them(Exodus 24:12).

The month of Sivan is the month we celebrate the Feast of Pentecost which commemorates the giving of the Torah and the Holy Spirit. Both the Torah and the Spirit are needed to worship the Lord in the way He is looking for us to worship Him. The Torah, which contains the Ten Commandments written on two stones, gives us our boundaries. Holy Spirit, who is the one who reveals to us the life of the Torah, empowers us to stay within our boundaries and become liberated by His Truth.

In the gospel of John we read the historical account of the woman at the well, which is the place and time in history when Jesus released the revelation of true worship. Before traveling to this area of Samaria Jesus voiced that He needed to go there. I find this to be very interesting because she reveals to us that it was highly unusual for Him to be speaking to her being a Samaritan. His disciples seemed to be perplexed as well but held their peace. Why would Jesus, the one who came for the lost sheep of Israel, be revealing Himself to this Samaritan woman? The answer I believe is very simple, because He knew that she would receive Him and His words by faith.

During this month it is important that we learn from this example. There is a time and a place to give a portion of our substance, time and revelation but we must be prayerful about our giving. Mathew 7:6 says this, “Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you”.This is a very important principle to understand this month as we are allowing the Lord to align us in a new way.

To see this from a different perspective, money, time and revelation can be bread that feeds us or seed for our harvest. There are some things that God reveals to me that are my bread, which is designed to nourish my spirit so that I continue to grow strong with Him. It is foolish for me to sow my bread as seed and expect a harvest. There are other things that He speaks to me that represent my seed. It is equally foolish for me to eat my seed as bread as I will not have any seed to sow for the next harvest. It is important that we know the difference this month.

Allow the Lord to align you in a new way! Let everything that has been disjointed come into alignment! Receive His mercy and grace that will empower you to complete what needs to be completed! I decree you will know when to give and when to receive! You will be strengthened to press into your destiny in Jesus name!
